The grand parents club have been very active over the past month with all or some of the team visiting the school every Wednesday (this was originally planned as a once a month club, but has turned into a weekly club).

The crops are all developing nicely in the school and we are raising them in a totally organic manner.   We have cultivated the first batch or radishes and some of the lettuces.   These are going to be added to the lunch offering this Friday.

What are we growing organically in the school.

Potatoes

Runner Beans

Beetroot

Courgettes

Strawberries

Radishes

Lettuce

Tomatoes (both outside and in the green house)

Peas

Cucumbers

Mini Sunflowers

Pumpkins

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Grand Parents Gardening Club for all their help and assistance in getting the growing grounds and greenhouse to this standard and then maintaining it.   If you haven’t noticed the areas by the main gates to the school are weed free and this is all down to their endeavours and hard work.

Later on in the year, I am hoping that we will be able to sell some of the organically grown products to you.  Monies raised from this will go towards subsidising next years crops.  When that happens your support will be greatly appreciated.
